Our Story

YES YOGA was founded by Dr. Don Miller and Janet Horn Miller in 2016. Don’s 30 year background as a Doctor of Physical Therapy & Janet’s 30 year history of teaching movement and yoga is the foundation of a very unique philosophy that combines functional movement with yoga and focuses on each individual's needs.

Don and Janet met in 2015, participated in several yoga and anatomy teacher trainings together and Don became a student of Hot Yoga Asheville where Janet was teaching. She was able to help in his recovery from a recent car accident where he fractured 11 of his vertebrae. Don enjoyed the benefits of the Hot Yoga series and the far infrared heat so much, that with Janet’s help he decided to put a studio in his rehab facility.  Janet runs YES YOGA offering class for all ages and all levels including many patients in the clinic after they are released from rehab as well as area sports teams. Don teaches anatomy workshops for yoga, helps students with injuries who need modifications and they lead destination yoga retreats in Mexico, Belize, and more.

Together as THE DR and the YOGI they have committed their lives to helping others move well, eat well and live well.

Jordan Brackett

Jordan's yoga journey started in 2012, while living in Wilmington, NC, and it hasn't stopped yet! It was immediate love, immediate connection - he was hooked! Jordan's practice eventually led him to Kalani Honua, the Big Island of Hawaii's largest retreat and wellness center, where he lived, worked, and completed the 200 hour Unified Yoga Teacher Training through the Peak Beings Yoga School. It's during this time in Hawaii that Jordan fell in love with the 26x2 series, taking intensive workshops, and practicing 3-4 times a week at Hot Yoga Hilo. It's here that he felt a lot of his yoga experience intersect, and align. And to this day, you'll hear him say, "The Sequence Works!" Upon leaving Hawaii, Jordan spent some time in LA, taking daily classes with teachers like Bryan Kest, and Govind Das, and shortly thereafter returned home to NC to steward his family's farm, continue sharing this practice, and recently graduated from The Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. Jordan has been training, assisting and teaching for Dr Don Miller and Janet Horn Miller since 2016 and his classes are heart-centered, refreshing, and meditative. Jordan invites everyone, of all-levels to drop into a class, drop into their breath, and connect into their body. His Warm Basic 26 class on Tuesdays at 5:30 is a favorite for all levels and 1st timers.
